Two people killed in overnight apartment fire in Montgomery
An adult and an adolescent boy have been killed in an apartment fire in Montgomery.
Montgomery Fire/Rescue Assistant Chief Stanley Cooper said the fire was reported just after midnight today in the 4700 block of Park Towne Way, which is just off Troy Highway. He said firefighters saw flames coming from a two-story apartment building when they arrived.
Cooper said fire crews were told there was a child inside the apartment where the fire may have started. Crews recovered both of the victims.
Cooper said the cause of the fire is under investigation.
