AUM welcomes Black Hawk helicopters
Students and staff at Auburn University Montgomery got to witness some impressive military gear landing on their campus.
A pair of UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters landed on campus today, right behind the library. The helicopters were used as part of a training exercise with 60 cadets from AUM’s U.S. Army ROTC Mustang Battalion.
The exercises focused on loading and unloading during combat situations and other military operations.
Some cadets had never been inside a Black Hawk helicopter before.
“I think it’s a great experience for the cadets, for them to come down and show us how to operate inside and outside of the aircraft. Hopefully, it will help to build their confidence and just extra motivation when it comes to the Army,” Cadet Battalion Commander Danielle Black said.
Some spectators got an in-depth tour inside the helicopters.
