A 2-alarm fire heavily damaged a home in Montgomery’s Deer Creek subdivision.

Montgomery Fire/Rescue Assistant Chief Stanley Cooper said the fire happened just after 10:30 this morning at a home in the 8900 block of Dallinger Court.

When firefighters arrived, smoke and flames could be seen coming from the roof of the two-story home.

Cooper said everyone had gotten out safely when firefighters arrived, although a 35-year-old man was treated for smoke inhalation and taken to a hospital for treatment.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
