Volunteers needed to judge Montgomery student speech and debate tournament

Hundreds of judges are needed for a special student speech and debate tournament that is happening this month in Montgomery.

The NCFCA Christian Speech & Debate league is hosting the tournament March 18-20 at Faulkner University. It is for students ages 12-18.

350 volunteers are needed. Organizers are looking for people willing to make a three-hour commitment. No experience is necessary because they say the students need feedback from adults with a wide variety of experiences and backgrounds.

Volunteers will watch a training video, then hear the students’ speeches before filling out ballots to rank the competitors and offering feedback.

Judges must be 18 or older, no longer in high school and not eligible for NCFCA competition themselves.
