Dispute between Lowndes Co. elected officials returns to court

From the West Alabama Newsroom–

Waka Lcdispute0305 VoAction 8 News has learned that Sheriff Chris West was recently arrested again — for the very same harassment and obstructing-governmental-operations charges — that he faced last year.

The charges stem from a heated exchange between West and members of the county commission — during a commission meeting last year.

West pled not guilty to the charges — and stood trial in Hayneville Municipal Court.

The judge dismissed both charges — without prejudice — which allowed them to be brought again.

The case is now set to go back before the court — on March 13th.
