Two killed in Crenshaw County fire
A house fire in Crenshaw County has claimed the lives of two people.
The fire happened around 6:42 a.m. Tuesday in the 15000 block of W. Helicon Road in the Helicon community.
Once on the scene, firefighters from the Highland Home Volunteer Fire Department determined that two occupants were not accounted for.
Fire units continued to work and extinguished the flames.
Investigators say two people died as a result of the fire. Their identities have not been released at this time.
In addition to Highland Home VFD, the North East Crenshaw VFD, Fullers Cross Roads VFD, Luverne Rescue, and Crenshaw County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the incident.
The Alabama State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire.
