More clouds than sun with rain and some storms this weekend

Friday was mostly sunny and warmer than Thursday. High temperatures were in the low to mid 70s, after morning lows fell into the 30s. Clouds increase Friday night, with lows in the mid 50s. Saturday looks partly to mostly cloudy, with high temperatures in the mid to upper 70s. It looks like the rain coverage remains low during the day, with just isolated showers for some.

However, rain and some storms look more likely Saturday night. The severe risk looks low, as a cold front may push through most of our area. That results in north winds and cooler temperatures. The storm prediction center indicates a marginal (level 1/5) severe risk close to the immediate coast. A strong wind gust or small hail cannot be ruled out near highway 84 in far south Alabama.

Sunday looks mostly cloudy with scattered showers. Temperatures remain cooler, with highs in the low to mid 60s. Some clouds and perhaps spotty showers linger Sunday night into Monday morning. Monday afternoon becomes sunny with high temperatures in the 60s to 70°. Monday night looks cooler, with lows in the low 40s. Tuesday and Wednesday look mostly sunny with highs in the mid to upper 70s.

Some rain appears possible next Thursday. Friday looks dry and warm, with highs in the low 80s. More rain and some storms appear possible next weekend. Longer range models differ on timing, but for now, rain and storms look a bit more likely Saturday. Some rain lingers into Sunday. The start of the following week may be drier and also cooler.
