A Significant Storm Event Possible This Weekend!
We’re heading into the latter half of the week with an active weather pattern taking over. There will be multiple rounds of rain and storms ahead. Our second round of storms comes through late Friday night into early Saturday and the third Saturday afternoon through Sunday morning. The third round will be stronger and more impactful area wide. We encourage you to go over your severe weather safety plan with your family before the storms arrive.
In the meantime, we catch a break from any storms activity Friday. We’re expecting a mostly cloudy sky but temps will warm into the lower 80s. It will be a very nice start to the weekend but it won’t stay that way.
The upcoming weekend will be next opportunity for rain and storms. A frontal system will work into the deep south. This system will be stronger and we’re expecting a severe weather threat late Friday through early Sunday. The main threats will be damaging winds up to 60-70 mph, tornadoes (possibly a few strong/long track ones), and large hail. The more impactful storms will move into the region during Saturday afternoon and continue eastward into the evening and early morning hours of Sunday. Rainfall potential will range between 1 to 2 inches. This could be a rather significant storm event and everyone will need to be weather aware this weekend.
We’re on the backside of all the active weather Sunday afternoon. Sunshine along with slightly cooler temps return to the area. Sunny and dry conditions will get our upcoming work week starting off but there will be another chance for rain activity by the middle of the week.
