ACTION 8 UPDATE: Significant storm damage reported in Troy

ACTION 8 UPDATE: Significant storm damage has been reported in Troy after Saturday’s severe storms.

It is not yet known if a confirmed tornado touched down. The National Weather Service office in Birmingham will be sending out three teams to examine damage in our part of the state over the coming days.

Damage has been reported at the Troy Recreation Center and the Troy Sportsplex. Practice has been canceled at Franklin ball park.

The Recreation Center has damage throughout the building.

The Troy Parks and Recreation Department is surveying the damage today.

“We are thankful the Lord provided protection over our community, and over 200 guests at the Recreation Center storm shelter, on Saturday night,” the parks and recreation department posted to social media.
