Jackson’s Gap residents begin cleanup after confirmed EF-2 tornado

People in East Alabama are assessing the damage after last night’s severe weather.

Residents along Rock Springs Road in Jackson’s Gap spent Sunday starting the cleanup process.

The confirmed EF-2 tornado uprooted trees and caused damage to mobile homes and vehicles in the area.

Officials previously thought that nearby Camp ASCCA had damage, but crews on the scene said late Saturday night that the suspected tornado touched down near the facility and no damage had occurred on the property.

Thankfully, no injuries or deaths have been reported.
