Pike County school damaged in suspected tornado
A Pike County school in Troy is dealing with the aftermath of a suspected tornado in that area.
The Center for Advanced Academics and Accelerated Learning on Mockingbird Lane received heavy damage to its facility.
Superintendent Mark Bazzell tells Action 8 News that the roof on the west side was damaged, along with the covered walkways and fencing, but the biggest problem is the water damaged caused by the storm.
The school serves as a STEM program for grades 5 through 8 and a dual enrollment academy for high school students.
Pike County students are on Spring Break this week, but Bazzell tells us that he plans to have an answer where to relocate the students that use the facility by the end of the week.
