Frost Possible Late Week!
We have another nice and warm spring-like day ahead before old man winter returns later in the week! A brief cold snap is on the way and there is some frost potential as temps plunge into the lower to mid 30s early Friday morning.
In the meantime, the official last day of winter will feel more like spring with temps managing the lower to mid 80s for highs. A frontal boundary will move into the area Wednesday night into Thursday. We expect a round of showers along with a few t-storms to move through here. Right now, we don’t see anything too strong or severe but we’re keeping an eye on it. We’re on the backside of the front Thursday and a surge of colder air will spill into the state. Our sky gradually clears and the temps drop down into the lower to mid 30s for lows Friday morning. The colder air will allow for frost development. You will need to take care of those tender plants outside.
The upcoming weekend is fairly decent at this point. High pressure will be over the region and we’re expecting lots of sunshine Saturday. Temps will reach the mid 70s for highs that afternoon. More clouds will roll into the area and we will need to introduce a chance for rain Sunday evening. Temps should climb into the mid to upper 70s for highs Sunday afternoon.
