Pinwheels planted to raise awareness about child abuse and neglect
Next time you are in downtown Montgomery, you might see a bunch of pinwheels spread out.
The Alabama Department of Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention and the Children’s Trust Found hosted a pinwheel garden planting Friday.
Pinwheels are symbolic of child abuse prevention and the annual event is held to raise awareness about child abuse and neglect.
The Alabama Department of Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention advocates for children and the strengthening of families and funds community programs committed to the prevention of child maltreatment.
You can find the pinwheel garden at 200 Monroe Street through the month of April.
