Two brothers charged with killing 17-year-old in Montgomery
Two brothers have been charged with capital murder in the killing of a 17-year-old in Montgomery.
Zaveon Simpkins was fatally shot on Friday, April 4. Police say at about 7:12PM that evening, they were called to the 3600 block of Madolyn Lane, which is in the Forest Hills neighborhood. Simpkins was found and declared dead at the scene.
Police have charged 19-year-old Christopher Kelly and 18-year-old Christian Kelly, both of Montgomery, with capital murder and first-degree robbery. They are being held in the Montgomery County Detention Facility.
Court records obtained by Action 8 News state that the brothers shot Simpkins during the course of robbing another victim, a 17-year-old male. The suspects took about $500 in cash and an iPhone, records show.
