Montgomery Academy tennis pair racks up 100 wins together

John Alford and Jackson Brown recently made Montgomery Academy tennis history as the first-ever players to reach 100 doubles wins.

The duo’s journey began in middle school when coach David Bethea matched them as his #3 doubles team. Though opposites on and off the court, they learned each other’s playing styles to find the perfect balance.

Their hard work paid off with back-to-back 6A titles. Now in their fifth year together, they boast a 18-1 record on the season. But they’re not done.

While Alford heads to TCU next year, they’re focused on one final championship run as they enter the 7A playoffs this week in the number one doubles division.
