Mom charged in death of her 4 month old baby

A Montgomery woman has been charged in the death of her child.

The incident happened around 6:20 p.m. Saturday, April 5, in the 3300 block of Fountain Lane.

Once officers arrived, they found a female infant unresponsive. The child, identified as 4-month-old Zuri McGhee, was taken to a local hospital for treatment where she later died.

Investigators later ruled the case as a homicide and has charged the mother, 26-year-old Brenika McGhee, with Capital Murder.

McGhee was taken into custody on April 17 and placed in the Montgomery County Detention Facility.
