Rain And Storms Likely Thursday Through Saturday

Our rain chances will be increasing as we head into the latter half of the week.   A frontal boundary will move closer to the area Thursday but it won’t pass through until the weekend.  The air mass ahead of the frontal system will be ripe for rain and storms.   Some storms could be strong to possibly severe.   It’s something we will be monitoring.

In the meantime,  a few showers or storms will continue into the evening hours but it’s looking quiet overnight.   Temps will fall into the mid 60s for lows and then we’re right back into the the mid to upper 80s Thursday afternoon. Showers and storms that do occur will knock the heat down in spots.  Some storms may ramp up a bit and become strong to possibly severe. We will need to mention the threat for damaging winds and even some large hail.

We have the frontal boundary moving even closer Friday.  This system will help trigger more showers and t-storms Friday into Saturday.  A strong to severe storm can’t be ruled out. The main threats will be damaging wind gust and quarter size hail.   The front will take its time departing and its expected to keep rain and storms in the area through Saturday afternoon.

Looks like we’re on the backside of the frontal system Sunday.  Northerly winds will usher in a fresh batch of dry/cooler air to the area.  This could set the stage for some really nice and mild weather conditions for Sunday.
