$9 million water project underway in Georgiana
A $9 million water filtration improvement project is underway in Georgiana, which city leaders say will bring a big benefit to residents.
Once work is finished, the city will no longer have to turn the water system completely off in order to fix a leak. Until now, some residents have lost service because of a leak that’s in another part of the city.
Those leaks have affected the water supply in the city’s 300,000 gallon water tank.
City leaders say the improvements include new water lines, meters and valves.
The one and-a-half year project started last year and is scheduled to be finished by the end of this year.
