Montgomery Public Schools is bringing in Grammy Award winner Sheila E. to join its student-led performance Saturday.  As of Wednesday morning, the event was at capacity and sold out.

MPS tells Action 8 they will continue to monitor ticket requests and will send out an update if any spots open up.

Due to rain in the forecast, the performance will be at the Multiplex at Cramton Bowl, Saturday, May 10th. Doors open at 2:00 p.m. and the performance starts at 3:00 p.m..

The school system says Shelia E. is a proud supporter of education and will help share the importance of daily school attendance and family engagement.

For free tickets to the performance, MPS will need to update their parent contact information by using the following link: https://montgomeryco.powerschool.com/public/home.html(https://montgomeryco.powerschool.com/public/home.html

Parents were emailed four (4) free tickets per student, and were able to share those tickets with family and friends. If MPS parents have any questions, they’re encouraged to email: parentinfo@mps.k12.al.us.

“We have so many talented students, and for Sheila E. to join our students on stage and share her gifts with them to help grow their imagination and skills is simply amazing,” Montgomery Public Schools Chief of Communications Jade Jones said.

“This is also a great way to engage our community with our school community. We want to showcase the talents of our students and remind the greater community that we need their support in reminding our youth how important it is to attend school regularly and for parents to ensure we have their most updated contact information.”
