A new first-of-its-kind — high-tech classroom — is now up and running at RC Hatch School in Uniontown.
What started out as an ordinary classroom has been transformed into a 21st century technology space.
It’s a connected rural classroom designed to bridge the digital divide.
Birmingham non-profit Ed Farms — designed and built the new lab.
“Where students can learn those things that’ll empower them in today’s workforce,” said Ed Farm President Waymond Jackson.
“One of the things that we know in today’s society is that innovation moves at the speed of technology.”
“We are so excited for this opportunity for our scholars,” said Perry Co. Schools Superintendent Dr. Marcia Smiley.
“It has opened up endless possibilities.”
School officials held a ribbon cutting ceremony for the new lab Friday.
The project has taken about one and a half years to complete.
