From the West Alabama Newsroom–
As the school year comes to a close in the Selma-Dallas County area — the public library is gearing up to host another busy summer.
The annual Sensational Selma Summer program — features eight weeks of activities at the library.
The program is designed to accommodate small children — tweens — and teenagers.
It features a variety of activities — that keep kids active and learning all summer long.
“The point of it is to get our kids to read, to get our kids to be aware of the discovery of information, to learn more about the world around them,” said Director Becky Nichols.
“To have families join the library and have families come together, reading and thinking and learning and growing together. That’s our goal.”
