Scattered storms throughout the weekend, some could be severe
Friday was a hot and humid day. High temperatures were in the low 90s in many locations. Meanwhile, heat indices were in the upper 90s to low 100s at times. However, a few showers and storms were in the mix during the afternoon. Although, coverage was relatively isolated through the early evening. Most of the afternoon showers and storms fade away by midnight. The rest of Friday night looks partly cloudy with lows in the low 70s.
Looks like another stormy weekend across central and south Alabama. Showers and storms become scattered about Saturday afternoon and evening, and again mainly during the same times Sunday. Some storms may become severe, capable mainly of damaging wind and hail. Locations near and north of highway 80 lie within a level 2 to 3 out of 5 severe risk Saturday. A marginal (level 1/5) severe risk covers our area Sunday.
Our weather pattern remains active for the first half of next week. Scattered to numerous daytime showers and storms form across central and south Alabama Monday through Wednesday. Showers and storm coverage trends lower late next week and perhaps into next weekend. Meanwhile, the entire week looks hot and humid with high temperatures in the upper 80s to low 90s each day.
