Golfers raise money, awareness of domestic violence at tournament in Greenville
Golfers got the chance to help raise awareness about domestic violence and support abuse survivors across our area at a golf tournament in Greenville.
The second annual Swing Fore Hope charity golf tournament was held on Tuesday, June 10, at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail Cambrian Ridge course to benefit the Montgomery-based Family Sunshine Center.
According to the Alabama Department of Public Health, one in four women and one in 10 men face some form of domestic violence, a situation that many might find nearly impossible to get out of. The Family Sunshine Center offers hope to those survivors.
That help includes crisis response, intervention, safe housing, outreach, counseling, intervention and supportive services.
