Montgomery Zoo welcomes military for annual appreciation day

The Montgomery Zoo hosted its 31st Annual Military Appreciation Day, treating military members and their families to all kinds of fun.

Yesterday, all active duty and retired military members and their families received a free full access admission to the zoo. Leaders at the zoo say they want to honor military members and their families.

“We’re really thankful to have all the people out,” Bailey Glasgow, marketing and public relations manager at the zoo, told Action 8 News. “A lot of these families are only here for a certain amount of time. They might only be here for a year or two at a time and this might even be their first chance coming to the zoo so we’re really thankful that they chose today to come out here.”

The day included free lunch and unlimited train rides.
