Work on Interstate 85 in Montgomery County to close one lane to traffic

Road work in Montgomery County will lead to a lane closure on Interstate 85.

The Alabama Department of Transportation says it will make bridge girder repairs on the Wares Ferry Road overpass starting today, weather permitting. The work is expected to be finished by Wednesday.

Repairs will take place on the southbound side. Crews will work daily from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., with closures in the southbound right lane and shoulder.

ALDOT says you can expect delays in that area.
