Tallassee man charged with attempted murder

Tallassee Attempted Murder

A Tallassee man is charged with attempted murder after a male victim was beaten and stabbed.

According to court records, it happened at around 1:45PM on Saturday, July 5, in the 100 block of East Patton Street in Tallassee.

Those records state that 33-year-old Kelvin Rodas used his girlfriend to unknowingly lure the victim to her home. When the victim arrived, Rodas hit the victim several times with a wooden log and stabbed him in the head and face, according to court records. Rodas then fled.

The victim was taken to Tallassee Community Hospital, then flown to Baptist Medical Center South in Montgomery with life-threatening injuries.

Court records say the girlfriend frantically called her mother to say her boyfriend was possibly killing someone. That’s when the mother called the police.

Rodas is in the Elmore County Jail on a $60,000 bond.
