Scattered storms Friday, less rain with more heat this weekend

Showers and stormed formed prior to midday across parts of central and south Alabama. However, rain coverage gradually becomes higher during the afternoon. Also, some showers and storms linger into Friday evening. Otherwise, Friday afternoon looks hot with high temperatures in the low 90s, and heat indices near 100°. Friday night becomes dry with a clearing sky and lows in the low to mid 70s.

Rain chances fall this weekend, with isolated to widely scattered showers and storms Saturday and Sunday afternoon. Less rain results in more heat, with highs in the low to mid 90s Saturday, and mid 90s Sunday. Mid-90° heat likely continues into next week on Monday and Tuesday, while rain chances remain low. Rain chances rise on Wednesday through Friday and next weekend. That results in less heat, with high temperatures in the low 90s during that stretch.
