Dangerous Heat Through Midweek

The heat is on with temps reaching the mid to upper 90s through midweek!  You factor in the humidity and it will feel more like 100 to 105.  We suggest you take it easy during the peak heating hours.  It’s best to stay hydrated and limit time in direct sunlight.  Rain chances are slim Tuesday but the rest of the week will be active with daily rounds of showers and t-storms.

Tonight is looking mainly clear with temps dropping into the lower to mid 70s for overnight lows.   We head into Tuesday with temps quickly warming through the 80s and soaring into into the 90s during the afternoon hours.  Heat indices will be between 100 to 105.  Rain chances are looking slim for Tuesday but daily rounds of showers and t-storms are likely through the rest of the week.

A disturbance will make its way across the Florida Peninsula Wednesday.  It will end up in the gulf and move westward.  There’s still some uncertainty on the strength of the system.  It possible it could develop into a tropical system. On the other hand, it could just be rain maker for the northern gulf coast over the next several day.  Either way, we expect rain activity to increase across South Alabama through the week.

At this point, the upcoming weekend is looking hot with scattered showers and storms.  Temps will continue to manage the lower 90s for highs.  Showers and t-storms activity will knock the heat off in spots.
