Two people hurt in attack at Demopolis Walmart

From the West Alabama Newsroom–

A Demopolis woman is behind bars tonight facing assault charges — after two people are attacked at the local Walmart store.

Waka Demopattack0716 SotvoPolice Chief Rex Flowers says 32 year old Kierra Carter attacked another woman inside the store late Tuesday afternoon — as well as the man who tried to stop the attack.

Both victims were taken to the hospital. And neither of them say they knew Carter.

“This woman went inside the store and got a crowbar and a butcher knife and she struck another female with the crowbar and started chasing her around in the store. And then an older male tried to take the crowbar away from her not knowing she had a knife. And she, she, she cut him,” said Flowers.

Carter is being held in the Marengo Co. Jail on one count of Assault first degree — and one count of Assault second degree.

The case remains under investigation.
