Old Autaugaville School could become home to a new private school

The old Autaugaville School could get new life.

The Autauga County Board of Education voted this week to enter into negotiations on the possible sale to a business owner in the city.

Marquis Forge, who owns Elevation86 Water and an Autaugaville native, wants to buy the school to turn it into a private Christian school.

Once the sell is finalized, Forge says he hopes to have the school open by August 2026.

As Action 8 News has reported, Autaugaville School closed after this past school year.  The Autauga County school board voted unanimously earlier this year to close its doors due to declining enrollment, poor academic performance and the district’s continued budgetary constraints.
