Three men dead following Sunday shootings in Troy
Troy Police investigate three shootings
Troy, AL (WAKA ACTION 8)– Troy police are investigating after they say three men died in shootings on Sunday.
Police say they responded Sunday around 10:30 P.M. to a man in the road in the 100 block of New Street. When they arrived, they found a man dead from a gunshot wound.
During the investigation, police were directed to a nearby home. There, they found a second man also dead after being shot.
Witnesses told police that a gray Nissan Altima had been taken.
Police later received a call of an abandoned car matching the description. The car was located on the side of North Three Notch Street near Needmore Road.
When officers arrived, they found a third man dead from a gunshot wound in the driver’s seat of the vehicle.
The Troy Police Department is actively investigating this case with assistance from the Pike County District Attorney’s Office, Pike County Sheriff’s Office and the Pike County Coroner’s Office. We were also assisted by Troy University Police.
According to police, there is not a known threat to the community.
