Dangerous Heat Continues Into Midweek

Dangerous heat will continue to be an issue through midweek.  Temps will manage the mid to upper 90s for highs but when you factor in the humidity, it will feel more like 100 to 110.  Fortunately, a disturbance moving across the northern gulf will send more rain activity our way and that should help knock the heat down late week.

In the meantime, high pressure remains in control of our weather now but it will begin weakening Wednesday. A front comes at us from the east and our rain chances go up.  There will also be a disturbance moving along the northern gulf Thursday into Friday.  This system will increase rain chances and also limit sunshine a bit.  As a result, we expect highs temps to only manage lower 90s late week.

The upcoming weekend is looking typical for late July.  High pressure builds back down into the area and that will help limit showers and storm development.  Temps will be heading back up and mid 90s are likely in spots.
