Overnight fire claims life of Andalusia man

An Andalusia man is dead after an overnight house fire in Covington County.
According to Covington County Sheriff Blake Turman, emergency responders were dispatched around 10:19 P.M. Tuesday to a structure fire on Antioch Road. When crews arrived, they found a home engulfed in flames.
Sheriff Turman says Kendall Ray Watson of Andalusia died as a result of the fire. Another man managed to escape and was taken to Andalusia Hospital with minor injuries.
“This is truly a tragedy for the families involved and we would like to extend our deepest condolences,” said Sheriff Blake Turman. “Our first responders worked extremely hard to control the fire, and our firefighters went above and beyond. Please keep the Watson and Walker families in your prayers.”
Multiple agencies responded to the scene, including the Andalusia Fire Department, Antioch Fire Department, Covington County Sheriff’s Office, Andalusia Police Department, and the State Fire Marshal’s Office.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, and authorities have not released further details.
