Still hot and humid, but better rain chances for the rest of the week

Rain chances look higher again for the rest of the week. However, rain coverage was low through midday Wednesday, with just isolated showers or storms drifting south on either side of highway 43. Although, showers and storms become more widely scattered during the afternoon. Before cooling rain arrives, temperatures surge into the mid 90s in at least some locations. Meanwhile, heat indices could be well over 100° at times. A heat advisory continues until 7PM for west Alabama.

Showers and storms linger Wednesday evening, but fade away by around midnight. Wednesday night becomes partly cloudy with lows in the mid 70s. Thursday and Friday look hot and humid, with high temperatures in the low to mid 90s with higher heat indices. However, showers and storms become scattered about each afternoon. That means temperatures likely fall at some point during the afternoon in many locations.

Our rain chance remains decent Saturday, but looks lower Sunday and Monday. Meanwhile, high temperatures may remain in the mid 90s for most locations this weekend. High temperatures may also be in the mid 90s each day next week. However, daytime rain chances look higher again Tuesday through Friday.
