Montgomery Christian School showing off renovations at new home on Vaughn Road

Action 8 News is getting a sneak peek at Montgomery Christian School’s new building before the start of the school year.

The Montgomery Christian School is moving into part of the old Aldersgate United Methodist Church at 6610 Vaughn Road.

With 280 students enrolled in kindergarten through 6th grade this fall, every space in their building on McGehee Road had been at full capacity.

Construction crews have been working around the clock to get the 65,000 square foot building ready for the start of the new year.

“We decided a long time ago to make sure that we stay centralized because honestly, under resource Parvati school choice, we want to make sure that everybody has the opportunity to come to this school,” Executive Director Pamela McLemore said. “So being on Vaughn Road not only is there a lot of traffic coming back-and-forth, but also we hope that is encouraging so that people will see so many educational facilities, especially Montgomery Christian School, that we are providing an opportunity here in Montgomery to change education.”

In the fall, McLemore says they will welcome an existing preschool and expand to sixth grade to begin MCS Middle School.

The new school year will begin on August 11.
