Candidate for Andalusia mayor says someone shot at him
A mayoral candidate in Andalusia is speaking out after he says he was recently a victim of a crime.
Terry Craig said he was walking his dog around 11:00PM last Friday, July 18, when a person in a dark SUV stopped near his home on South Cotton Street and fired two shots in his direction.
Craig said the first shot came within four to six inches of his face. We spoke with Craig and he says he doesn’t believe this was an accident.
“I think this was a targeted attack,” Craig said.
Action 8 News contacted the Andalusia Police Department which said the responding officer did not find anyone injured or any damage to the property.
Craig is challenging current longtime Andalusia Mayor Earl Johnson. Don Cotton is also in the race.
The city elections are August 26.
