High rain chances and not as hot Sunday into next week

The afternoon heat finally backed down a bit Saturday. High temperatures were in the upper 80s to low 90s, while heat indices were mostly below 100°. There was no heat advisory in effect for any part of our area for the first time since last weekend. Clouds and rain played a role in that. Showers and storms became scattered about during the afternoon, and lingered into the evening.

Rain likely fades away by around midnight, with a mostly cloudy sky and lows in the low to mid 70s overnight. Sunday looks partly to mostly cloudy with scattered to numerous afternoon showers and storms. High temperatures may remain near or below 90° in most locations due to clouds and rain. While rain fades away Sunday night, Monday and Tuesday also feature high chances for rain, which may also keep afternoon temperatures in the 80s.

Rain chances may fall late next week, but high temperatures remain slightly below average, in the low 90s through Friday. Isolated to widely scattered showers and storms stay in our forecast next weekend. Meanwhile, high temperatures remain in the low 90s next Saturday and Sunday. The weather for the first couple days of the following week looks similar- highs in the low 90s with isolated to widely scattered showers and storms.
