Students, parents celebrate start of the school year in Millbrook
Students and parents celebrated the final weekend before the start of the new school year.
Sunday Funday was held yesterday at Village Green Park. Families enjoyed free hamburgers and hotdogs, a live DJ and a performance by local high school student Saniyah Venable, and games and activities.
Families happily lined up to grab free bookbags and school supplies.
The event was hosted by Millbrook city councilwoman Jacquelyn Thomas.
The new school year for students in Elmore County starts Thursday, August 7.
