Prattville police have arrested a man on charges of robbing two businesses.

Police say Devin Christopher Edward Jones was arrested on two counts of robbery in the first degree. He is being held in the Elmore County Jail with no bond, pending an Aniah’s Law hearing.

Police say on July 7, they began investigating a robbery that happened in the 200 block of Interstate Commercial Park Loop. Investigators say someone wearing a mask and all-black clothing entered the business with a gun and demanded cash from the register. After getting an undisclosed amount of cash, the robber ran away.

Then on July 27, police responded to a second robbery in the same block of Interstate Commercial Park Loop. In this case, they say someone wearing a mask, grey hoodie and black pants entered the business with a gun and demanded cash from the register. Once again, the robber ran away after getting an undisclosed amount of cash.

Investigators say they found similarities between those two robberies and an earlier robbery which happened in the 1700 block of East Main Street on February 8, 2022. That investigation led to the arrest of Jones the day following the robbery.

After making the connection, police say they arrested Jones last Thursday, July 31. They say more information will be released at a later date.
