Sunshine, tolerable heat, low rain chances Friday and this weekend

Thursday started with a gray sky in at least some locations, but sunshine was in the mix by midday all across our area. A few showers formed in far southwest Alabama by the late morning, and that remains the most likely location for additional showers during the afternoon. Elsewhere, the rest of our area remains mainly dry with a partly cloudy sky and high temperatures in the upper 80s to low 90s.

A few showers may linger into Thursday evening, but Thursday night becomes mainly dry with lows in the low 70s. A low cloud deck may re-develop overnight into Friday morning, so the sky may become overcast in some locations. However, the sky becomes partly cloudy again by Friday afternoon, with high temperatures in the upper 80s to low 90s. Outside of a stray shower or storm, Friday looks mainly dry.

Rain chances remain fairly low this weekend, with just isolated showers or storms Saturday. Otherwise, expect a partly cloudy sky with high temperatures in the upper 80s to low 90s. Sunday’s rain chance looks a little higher, with widely scattered showers and storms during the afternoon. Outside of rain, expect a partly cloudy sky with high temperatures in the low 90s.

Next week’s weather looks about the same each day. Showers and storms become widely scattered across our area each afternoon. Afternoon temperatures generally peak in the low 90s through Friday.
