Community rallies around Linden family following tragedy

The Linden community rallies around a woman who lost both her husband and her home due to a tragic house fire.

Waka Lindenfire0807 PkgAndre Cobb lost her husband Darrell — along with the house where the couple raised their two sons.

The house burned down Saturday evening and Darrell passed out and died.

A Go-Fund-Me page set up to help the family has raised over $60,000 dollars.

“The lost everything,” said Traci Stein.

“I want to leave it open if I can. Cause you know the prices these days. That’s just a drop in the bucket.”

“They were known all around Marengo County. So, that’s why the county got together and just rallied together and everybody in the community did what they could do to try to help this family,” said Bridget Glover of Linden.

Mayor Gwendolyn Rogers issued a statement on behalf of the city — extending deepest sympathy and heartfelt prayers to the Cobb family during this difficult time.

The funeral for Darrell Cobb was held Thursday morning at Providence Baptist Church in Marengo County.
