Clouds And Rain Activity Holding The Heat Down
We have an active weather pattern in place through midweek. Gulf moisture is flowing into the state and that’s fueling periods of showers and t-storms. The rain activity will keep temps in check and we’re expecting high temps to remain below average through Wednesday.
In the meantime, a mainly cloudy sky will prevail over the area tonight . Occasional showers and possibly t-storms will work through the area. Temps will only fall into the lower to mid 70s for overnight lows.
Tuesday and Wednesday will continue to be active with scattered showers and t-storms. Tropical like downpours are possible and that could lead to a break period of heavy rainfall. Temps will remain below average for highs. We’re expecting upper 80s to lower 90s for highs through midweek.
Thursday and Friday are going to be a bit warmer with highs in the lower 90s. Looks like lots more sunshine and less rain activity will lead to the warmer temps. High pressure will be building over the area and this will set the stage for summer heat and humidity to return.
The upcoming weekend is looking typical for mid August. We’re planning on a mostly sunny sky with isolated showers or t-storms around. Temps will continue to manage the lower to mid 90s for highs and lows in the mid 70s.
