Montgomery police launch homicide investigation after deadly shooting

The Montgomery Police Department has launched a homicide investigation following a fatal shooting on Woodley Road.

Police say at about 5:51PM Friday, August 8, they and fire medics were called to the 3000 block of Woodley Road on a report of multiple people shot. That location is near the intersection of East South Boulevard.

They say they found 21-year-old Ja’Richo Hinkle of Montgomery with a gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

In addition, another man was found with what’s believed to be a non-life threatening gunshot wound. He was also taken to a hospital.

Police say no additional information is available.
