Heat advisory Friday, mid-90° heat this weekend into next week

Friday afternoon looks hot and humid, with high temperatures in the mid 90s and heat indices up to 105° in rain-free locations. A heat advisory continues until at least 7PM Friday, but may be extended into this weekend and even next week. However, cooling showers and storms formed across central and south Alabama during the late morning and early afternoon. Showers and storms remain scattered about during the afternoon, providing some heat relief.

A few showers or storms linger Friday evening, but fade away overnight. The sky may become mainly clear, with lows in the low to mid 70s. Rain coverage looks lower, but not zero Saturday and Sunday afternoon. Temperatures likely peak in the mid 90s in most locations before cooling showers or storms arrive. Heat indices likely easily surpass 100° each afternoon.

Mid-90° continues through Wednesday of next week. Rain chances look very low Monday and Tuesday, but increase by the end of the week. That brings high temperatures back down into the low 90s Thursday and Friday. High temperatures may also remain in the low 90s next weekend, with at least widely scattered afternoon showers and storms Saturday and Sunday.
