New Information in Alleged Sex Assault of a Montgomery Student
There’s new information in the investigation of an alleged sexual assault of a Montgomery student.
Mayor Todd Strange called a press conference on Wednesday following what he called conflicting reports on the story and rumors on social media.
A student at a Montgomery Middle school reported the alleged assault on November 30th, an alleged assault by a fellow student.
But police say that the accused student in the case was then cleared of any wrongdoing. That’s when police say the alleged victim changed their story. But despite the claims, police say there is no evidence to back up any of the claims in the case.
However, they want to assure parents that the case is being handled properly and the they are concerned most about the best interest of the child.
The indentity of the student has not been released.
Police are also pointing out that at no time was there ever any suggestion that the alleged assault happened on school property.
