This week, Republican presidential front runner Donald Trump made some pretty bold statements when it comes to accepting refugees.
He said the U.S. should not accept a Muslim from a foreign country.
We wanted to know what local Muslims think about this.
Montgomery resident Aya Zaied is a law student at Faulkner University. She is an American and a Muslim.
Zaied says Trump’s comments made her sad. And she doesn’t think banning Muslims from America is the right thing to do.

“As an American, it disappoints me because vet them properly, extend the procedures, make them longer, make them have to go through a lot more loopholes if you need to, but to say close the doors to Muslim refugees specifically, it just seems so wrong,” said Zaied.

Zaied says she fears the anti-Muslim approach will only further ISIS’s ideology and they will want to harm the U.S. even more.
