College football returns as Montgomery prepares for FCS ESPN Kickoff Game
The game will take place August 23 at 6:00 p.m. at Cramton Bowl, with Mercer University and the University of California, Davis set to take the field in a nationally broadcast on ESPN.

The City of Montgomery is preparing to welcome hundreds of fans to the Capital City for the 2025 ESPN FCS Kickoff Game.
The game will take place August 23 at 6:00 p.m. at historic Cramton Bowl, with Mercer University and the University of California, Davis set to take the field in a national broadcast on ESPN.
“This event is a celebration of our city, our hospitality, and the game we love,” said Mayor Steven L. Reed. “We welcome fans, families, and visitors to experience all that Montgomery has to offer as we kick off another exciting football season.”
City officials have released the schedule for this weekend’s events:
Friday, August 22:
5:00 p.m. – Lot C opens for RVs
7:00 p.m. – AHSAA Kickoff
10:00 p.m. – Road closures begin on Madison Avenue near the North Endzone
Saturday, August 23:
6:00 a.m. – Hard close for all roads around Cramton Bowl
2:00 p.m. – Shuttles and parking decks open (RSA Tower, RSA Union, RSA Capitol, Intermodal)
4:00 p.m. – Cramton Bowl gates open
6:00 p.m. – Kickoff
Tailgating will take place in Lot E, and RV Parking in Lot C will be managed by the Central Alabama Recreational Vehicle Association (CARVA). Parking passes for Lots A, B, F, G, J, and K can be purchased in advance at montgomerykickoffgames.com/fcskickoff.
