Clouds increase, some showers Thursday into Labor Day weekend

Wednesday morning was rather cool again for late August, with lows in the low to mid 60s in most locations. However, Alexander City fell all the way to 56° Tuesday night. Wednesday afternoon looks partly to mostly sunny with high temperatures in the mid to upper 80s, well below-average for late August in our area. Clouds increase some Wednesday night into Thursday morning, with lows in the low to mid 60s again.

A few showers appear possible amongst the clouds by Thursday afternoon. However, rain coverage remain isolated Thursday. High temperatures may still range from the mid to upper 80s where more sunshine fills the sky. Additional showers remain possible Thursday night into Friday, with a mostly cloudy sky otherwise. However, temperatures may still warm into the mid to upper 80s Friday afternoon.

Labor Day weekend may remain mostly cloudy with at least scattered showers, especially Saturday and Sunday. That likely keeps afternoon temperatures in the 70s and 80s each day, and lows in the upper 60s each night. Labor Day and next week may trend drier and warmer, with high temperatures near 90° each day. Isolated showers remain possible Monday and Tuesday, but Wednesday through Friday could be mainly dry.
