A suspect is now in custody in connection to a shots fired incident overnight in downtown Auburn.

Around 2:27 a.m. Saturday, officers responded to the 100 block of North College Street. That area is near Toomer’s Corner.

Once officers arrived, they found shell casings and parked vehicles struck by gunfire.

Authorities believes a fight between individuals may have led to a firearm being discharged.

Auburn police say no one was injured in the incident.

Later that day, with the help of the Elmore County Sheriff’s Office, officers arrested 19-year-old Le’Gregory Ty’reil Blanks, of Wetumpka, on felony warrants charging him with four counts of discharging a firearm into an unoccupied vehicle and reckless endangerment.

Blanks is currently in the Lee County Detention Facility on a $21,000 bond.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with any related information is encouraged to contact the Auburn Police Department at (334) 501-3100.
