Man arrested on kidnapping, domestic violence charges in Montgomery County

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a man on kidnapping and domestic violence charges.

Assistant Chief Deputy Wesley Richerson tells Action 8 News that around 11:00 p.m. Sunday, deputies responded to the area of Barnes Road and Meriwether Road in Pike Road. That area is not far from Troy Highway.

Once they arrived, they discovered a domestic violence incident at a nearby home where a female victim had been assaulted and kidnapped.

Deputies soon identified the suspect as 20-year-old Donald Eugene Jackson, Jr.

Authorities were able to locate Jackson as he was heading north into Chilton County where he was eventually taken into custody and the victim was safely rescued about two hours later.

Jackson is currently being held without bond at the Montgomery County Detention Facility.
